Who’s in charge?

Michael Dunbar
Graphic Designer
I started my career at Circus Design Agency in 1989 as a Finishing Artist who was immediately sat in front of one of Glasgow’s earliest Apple Macintosh computers and told to learn what I could on Adobe Illustrator (version 88) to help the company move away from the A0 Drawing Boards and embrace this then-new technology.
Circus Design soon became part of The Image & Print Group, where I was already a proficient Mac Operator. By 1993 I was producing advertising and editorial content for worldwide magazines. I was offered a new position with a client’s company In Position Media as part of an exciting new, small production team in publishing.
By 2005, and with a young family, I decided to become a sole trader and started Windmill Graphic Design to offer all that I had learned, plus now I had to adapt further to offer website design and other digital printing services.
I am currently based with Clyde Wraps (Vehicle Branding) in Glasgow and have been their graphic artist since 2008. Together we have created some of the best vehicle wraps seen including setting trends for others to copy.
I’ve always embraced new technology and – with the latest versions of artificial intelligence coming in to play – am always striving to learn more.
